Course outline

This workshop is designed to help individuals manage effective meetings, ensuring objectives are achieved and everyone’s valuable time maximised. It will develop the right balance to facilitate conversation whilst maintaining flow and direction.

The course will develop the essential communication skills required to facilitate in a range of meeting environments and how to adopt a consultative approach to facilitating public or in-house meetings.

It will introduce strategies and techniques to manage personal anxiety and confidence throughout the proceedings.

This workshop will benefit anyone responsible for managing meetings from small team gatherings to large scale public consultations.

Learning activities

The workshop uses a variety of drama based techniques and interactive exercises to engage participants in what effective communication looks like. The day will include an exploration of specific behavioural tools and techniques to support effective facilitation of group meetings.

Participants will have the opportunity to practise these techniques in a live meeting simulations, embedding their understanding of the learning and building confidence to transfer their skills to the workplace.
RoleplayUK’s specialist team will provide a supportive and challenging environment in which to test the participants’ capability, offering opportunities for personal practice and individual development.

Outcomes

By the end of the workshop participants will have gained valuable insight into the specific techniques required to effectively facilitate a public meeting alongside their colleagues. They will have learned how to handle objections and concerns, both in the public meeting scenario and in a one-to-one conversation. They will have been able to practise adapting their voice, tome and body language for effective personal communication.
